Orange indicating silica gel

Silica Gel is non-corrosive, odourless, non-toxic and chemically inert. It has a very strong affinity for water and will absorb it. The main component of silica gel is Silicon Dioxide; it is a granular, vitreous, highly porous form of Silica made synthetically from Sodium Silicate and Sulfuric acid under controlled conditions. After it is washed, aged and dried granular and beaded shapes are formed. The beaded form has a higher mechanical strength, therefore does not generate dust, the uniform size reduces gas flow channeling and minimize the pressure drop. Silica gel can absorb water up to 30% or more of its own weight. Silica Gel can be regenerated for re-use by heating at 120 C. This is a safe alternative to blue indicating silica gel. The dyeing agent used in orange indicating silica gel is non-toxic, non-cobalt organic compound, therefore, it is environment friendly, safe and also has a superior moisture capacity as compared to blue indicating silica gel. It is semi-transparently orange and glassy in appearance. When it becomes saturated its color changed from orange to green. Due to its unique chemical properties and high adsorption performance, this type of silica gel is used widely in every industry mainly military, aviation and power industry.
